Lyrics

The Woman Inside of Me

WomanInsideMeThere is a woman
Who lives inside me
She winks and takes
Me aside

She says I need
To move out west
Where in the mountains
I might abide

Then she laughs
And twirls around
And says, “No, not
That way-but see!”! Continue reading

COME BE MY LOVER

img018It’s not that I don’t need you
It’s just I have found myself
I have filled up all the wanting
With pearls of my own wealth

The gift of love I give you
Is not the love of youth
It is fire mixed with wisdom
And passion mixed with truth

Come and be my lover
Neath the sheets of diamond skies
Let your kisses linger
Till the sun begins to rise

Dance with me in moonlight
While the wheat fields wave in time
We’ll listen to the night birds
And drink the sacred wine

I can’t pledge or promise
I havre no tie that binds
Just be mine forever
We’ll walk the road that winds

If you like something, please share it!

CROSSROADS

IMG_0947I’m at a crossroads
after all those miles
I find my heart breaking
beneath false smiles

I pray for a sign
that is right and true
but silence the answer
when the storm is through

bring back my babies
when they needed my touch
when holding and rocking
could answer so much

bring back my confidence
in having meals on time
and show me where our lives go
and all I thought was mine

If you like something, please share it!

Old Time Lonesome

IMG_0276Here’s a new song for our album:

OLD TIME LONESOME

The woodpile is crumbling
The fields are now bare
The tractor is rusting
There’s no one to care

There’s no coffee brewing
The screen door don’t slam
The old stairs are quiet
The jars empty of jam

My folks have passed on
Tho ever so near
The sound of their voices
Still ring in my ear

The apples have fallen
The garden’s no more
The roses entangled
There’s nothing to store

The old swing is hanging
The chain broken down
The horse barn is leaning
No need for the town

My folks have passed on
Tho ever so near
The sound of their voices
Still ring in my ear

My mother’s not waving
From the window at us
Dad’s not telling stories
And making a fuss

The dinner bell quiet
The old rooster gone
The thistles are soldiers
Overrunning the farm

But I’ll take them with me
Where ever I go
My heart’s full of memories
They’ll live in my soul
